A copycat of Buffalo Wild Wings' Asian Zing sauce — a sweet, sticky and spicy glaze of corn syrup, sugar, Sriracha and soy sauce thickened with cornstarch, then tossed with cooked wings.

Ingredients

2 teaspoonscornstarch
4 teaspoons (20 ml)rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup (120 ml)corn syrup
1/3 cup (65 g)sugar
1/4 cup (60 ml)Sriracha (or more)
1 tablespoon (15 ml)soy sauce
1 teaspoonlemon juice
1/4 teaspoonground ginger
1/4 teaspoonsalt
1/4 teaspoongarlic powder
1egg yolk
3 teaspoons (15 ml)water
3 teaspoonscornstarch (for slurry)
1-2 dozencooked wings

Instructions

  1. Combine the cornstarch, rice wine vinegar, corn syrup, sugar, Sriracha, soy sauce, lemon juice, ground ginger, salt and garlic powder in a small saucepan and stir to mix. Heat over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Combine the egg yolk, water and cornstarch in a small bowl and whisk until fully combined. Whisk this mixture into the cooled sauce.
  3. Toss the cooked wings in the sauce and serve!
