A copycat of Red Lobster's famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits — fluffy, cheesy garlic drop biscuits brushed with garlic-parsley butter. Fast to mix and bake in about 10 minutes.

Ingredients

2 cups (250 g)all-purpose flour
1 tablespoonsugar
1 tablespoonbaking powder
2 teaspoonsgarlic powder
½ teaspoonsalt
¼ teaspooncayenne pepper (optional)
1 cup (240 ml)buttermilk
½ cup (115 g)unsalted butter, melted
1½ cups (170 g)sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
3 tablespoonsunsalted butter, melted (topping)
1 tablespoonfresh parsley leaves, chopped (topping)
½ teaspoongarlic powder (topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt and cayenne in a mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and melted butter. Pour over the flour mixture and stir with a fork just until moist — the batter will be lumpy.
  4. Gently stir in the shredded cheese.
  5. Scoop ¼-cup portions of batter onto the lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake until the tops are golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Stir together the melted butter, parsley and garlic powder to make the topping. Brush over the top of each biscuit and serve.
