Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce
A rich, smoky-sweet copycat barbecue sauce spiked with Jack Daniel's whiskey, molasses and apple cider vinegar. Simmer to your preferred thickness — it thickens further as it cools.

Ingredients
| 1/4 cup (40 g) | yellow onion, finely chopped |
| 2 tbsp | garlic, minced |
| 2 tbsp (28 g) | butter |
| 1 cup (240 g) | ketchup |
| 1 tbsp | ground mustard |
| 2 tbsp (25 g) | brown sugar |
| 1 tbsp | paprika |
| 1 tbsp | chili powder |
| 2 tsp | thyme |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 tsp | pepper |
| 1/2 tsp | cayenne |
| 2 tbsp (40 g) | molasses |
| 1 tbsp | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1 cup (240 ml) | apple cider vinegar |
| 1/4 cup (60 ml) | water |
| 1/4 cup (60 ml) | Jack Daniel's whiskey |
Instructions
- Sweat the onion and garlic in a medium saucepan with the butter.
- Add the ketchup to the saucepan and reduce the heat to a low simmer.
- Add the rest of the dry ingredients and spices and stir.
- Add all the remaining ingredients and liquids to the saucepan.
- Simmer and reduce the BBQ sauce for 30 minutes, or until it reaches the desired thickness. The sauce will thicken some when cooled. Let the sauce chill.
