Kinder Copycat Ice Cream

A homemade copycat of the milky-chocolate Kinder flavour: a creamy milk ice cream layered or swirled with milk chocolate, tasting like a frozen Kinder chocolate bar. The source page had no written method (image/title only), so the method below is a faithful reconstruction of a classic no-churn Kinder-style ice cream.

400 ml (1 can)sweetened condensed milk
150 g (5.3 oz)milk chocolate
1 tspvanilla extract
pinchsalt

Instructions

  1. Whip 480 ml (2 cups) cold heavy cream to stiff peaks.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk 400 ml (1 can) sweetened condensed milk with 1 tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk until smooth and airy.
  4. Melt 150 g (5.3 oz) milk chocolate, let it cool slightly, then swirl about two-thirds through the base for the Kinder milk-and-chocolate look; keep the rest for drizzling.
  5. Pour into a loaf tin, drizzle the remaining melted chocolate on top and swirl with a knife.
  6. Cover and freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight, until firm. Let soften 5 minutes before scooping.
