Instructions
The recipe for Red Velvet cookies is one of our favorites, which is why we also offer a variant for attractive red waffles to amaze your guests. The syrup for it is not exactly sweet, but if you prefer you can replace it with a favorite topping to your taste. Makes about 10.
- Turn on the waffle iron to heat. Meanwhile, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a bowl and stir.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs well with the melted butter, then add the buttermilk, vanilla, vinegar and red food coloring. Stir on the lowest mixer speed for 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet and stir well. Grease both plates of the waffle iron and pour enough of the mixture in the center to make one waffle. Close the iron and wait until the waffle is ready.
- Prepare the syrup by mixing its ingredients and stirring well.
- Place the finished waffle to cool on a rack. Serve with cream cheese topping if desired. Enjoy!
